Was startled by a flock of Canada geese here on Sunday!

Snow this morning down to 2800 feet.

Okay, I've had enough winter now, you can have your snow back

That's funny! My son who loves snow/winter just said to me last night "dad, I wish summer would come soon"!
Well, it will if soon means 6 months!

The surest sign that this will be a rough winter is the fact that for some inexplicable reason I've been refusing to shave or buzz my haircut anymore. Pretty soon I'll start to look like the animal that I've always been !

And I can tell we didn't have any summer, because I didn't crave peanut-butter sandwiches for breakfast!

Hmm... I think I've just discovered the true criterion for being a real Montanan: Weird notions connected to winter behaviour!

Default cold?

My dghtr called from No. California yesterday and was whining how cold it was getting, wit wind and drizzle. I asked, "howcold is it?" (fully knowing myself it was probably around 40ish). "42degrees". Told her "ha!...you're having a heat wave, it's -12 on the deck here with the sun out!"
There are 4 seasons in California....blasting hot, hot, warm and occ. cool.

I had -32 yesterday and 1 above this morning. Feels like a heat wave. My dogs were actually happy to go outside and stayed outside for more than two minutes. I don't mind the cold so much...wood splits so easy when it's frozen lol. I worry about my husband and son who work outside. Yes, they worked yesterday too getting the equipment going with tarps and weed burners. I would just like to see more snow for snowmobiling and boarding. Hope we get some from the front coming in today.

It has been coming down since about 7 last night, a light coating so far but if NOAA is to be believed we're supposed to get around a foot before it's over on Friday. According to the weather channel this AM we're due snow until next Tuesday. We'll see I guess...

The cold broke here this morning about 8a.m. or so; had winds for about an hour blowing all the -25F stuff out and it was in the high teens by the afternoon. Took the dog for a long walk this evening and +10F didn't feel bad at all - dropped the hat and gloves off after only a half mile or so.

Guess we're supposed to be back in the basement by the weekend, though.

Seemed like a real heat wave didn't it ??? I was camping in a tent in that -25 crap down that way this last weekend and last week . Extended Elk season...

I was out much of today messin around with just a flannel shirt as a jacket with no hat or gloves. Hit 12 degrees and felt pretty nice compared to what I went through last weekend and all. If it wasn't for the snow coming down and if the sun were out, I'd say I thought spring was about to pop . Thought is was pretty warm out myself !

Yep... this weekend will be another dandy. But by the middle of next week it will seem like summer . The 20's & 30's are on the way...
