I am from San Diego too and the reason people from Montana don't like people from California is 1. they are all from california too and they were hoping to escape that culture and lots of people come to california and try to make montana just like california. 2. they drive the houseing market up so high that only people from CA can now afford to live here. The Colleges, like most, are not concervative..They are actually very liberal ESPECIALLY missoula. Skiing here in the Valley is AWESOME. Big Mountain and black tail are a blast!!! They younger generation don't dislike CA they like California culture just tell him to keep where he came from to himself when it comes to the older generation! PS...some of the prof. at Kalispell are friends of mine and are from California. one even teaches half the year back in San Diego at Palomar. He will love it..Tell him to take a Saturday night off and go to Red's its a good place to meet friends.
