Default What makes bozeman work....

I have lived in the area for almost ten years now, and have watched both Bozeman and BigSky thrive into almost absurd areas. I moved from Duluth in 1999 and have gone back for a few summers since. I have compared both cities over the years and have found them to be somewhat similar, at least in terms of the Liberal vibe. As a moderate, I have seen what over liberal views have done to Duluth, and how it has made it a destination for welfare abusers. Bozeman doesn't have that problem. Also, I have witnessed the Large Union Stranglehold that has crippled the Economy back home for years. I want to know what makes Bozeman thrive other then the lack of unions, and the obvios natural beauty. And what you think would make it work even better. Thanks..

Well if people would stop charging such high rent for homes and businesses it would be more appealing to more businesses and would attract more residence. My mother had to close her sandwich shop/ game room because she couldnt afford the rent.

I feel Bozeman is attracting more residents then the city can support. It seems very congested for such a small area. I'd guess it has doubled in size since 99, and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon. Almost like people don't care it is overpriced. They just want to call themselves bozemanites. So what is the big deal other then Bridger Bowl and BigSky. Yes it is very clean, and most locals are great people. But there is a lack of good paying employment compared to other areas. Unless you build homes for the people moving in. I love the area, but have always thought it could have more to offer. Seems like bozeman is a lil sleepy for a college town. There are no real night clubs, or major tourist attractions. Yet, everyone is super happy just to be in Bozeman. Guess its all just people looking to get away from where ever they are from..???
