News, Montana group seeks native status for walleye.
HELENA, Mont. (AP) - Walleye enthusiasts want the Montana Legislature to fully embrace the fish, but some find their proposal hard to swallow.
A bill up for a state Senate hearing this week calls on legislators to declare walleye, with big eyeballs and meat that is easily separated from bone, a native of Montana even though scientists widely say the fish was transplanted to the state.

It would be interesting to see how and when the fish was introduced into Canyon Ferry. I spend a lot of time on the three lakes so I'm glad its there and I hope this goes through.

Ever try pan-fried walleye in an omelet? Sounds gross but tastes delicious!

Walleye are one of, if not THE best fresh water eating fish in existence. There is no wrong way to prepare them in my book ! And they are really fun fish to fish for. I really hope they push this through... It's a good thing.
