When does the Missoula area and small towns out side of it experience it's most thunder/lightning storms? Thanks!

When compared to the eastern half of the state, thunder and lightning is not all that common in Missoula area - in the surrounding mountains yes, but lightning and hail of any dimension are very rare. A house near us was actually hit several years ago - but a rare occurance.
In the eastern part of the state it's common during summer months together with the potential for very damaging hail. |
