Plains, paradise montana research
Hi folks, wondering if any of you live in the Plains or Paradise, Montana area? Any thoughts about rentals, buying property, nearest Starbucks (heh! heh!). Is this considered the banana belt? Read that somewhere...Well, I am still waitin' for some someone to take pity on me and give me some good, or not so good advice. I am a writer, photographer, artist, and mostly keep to myself. Would like to learn how to ski and fly fish. Hey, what does Fla boy have that I don't?

Well, theres not much in either town, plains is the larger of the two, but thats not saying much. Plains has a subway sandwich shop, ford dealership, gas station store, school and a few other things. definatly no starbucks. Its really a beautiful area with the river and mountain. Ive seen big horn sheep, elk ,bear, deer down by the river. Its a long way to good shopping, either kalispell or courdalene idaho. As far as rentals, I dont know. Definatly visit before moving there. I hope this helps a little bit.

Thanks
Well, I think I will visit, and it is about the land, etc. Didn't expect a Starbucks, and a Ford dealership is a good thing since I have one. Lia

Harvest Foods in T.F. isn't all that much bigger than McGowans in Plains. T.F. has a subway too.
T.F. has more character and the island is nice to walk about on the trails. Nice view of the dams if you poke about on the island a bit. Plains is in a wide flat area of that segment of the Clark Fork River Valley. It was used to hide horses back in the day. The full name is Wild Horse Plains, shortened to Horse Plains and later shortened to Plains thanks to the U.S.P.S. The old name is making a comeback due to popular demand. Visit the old stone jail in Plains.
What is Starbucks ? !!!

T. Falls also has a "discount" food store run but the Menonite people. It gets the food that has dented cans, boxes, over-runs from other stores, etc. It's like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're going to get! We enjoy going there when we go visit my sister in T. Falls. Sister & her hubby built a beautiful home across the river (reservoir part of it) from town right in the trees. I love the night view of town with the town lights reflecting off the water. It is a nice town and they like it there.
