your opinions on Ronan?
I have visited Ronan four times and even own a small piece of property just west of town. However, my knowledge of the economy, culture, local customs, history, etc. is just superficial. Anyone out there that is currently a resident or is familiar with Ronan that could help me prepare to fit in?

The only thing that I would advise would be to use extra caution when driving the stretch of highway 93 between Evaro and Polson. That stretch has a bad rep for drunk driving accidents.

Rickers, can you tell me more about Ronan?
No major event here but a job opening is posted and dh was looking for a local view. I see it's proximity to Whitefish so I would assume (I know, bad to do that) the rico culture abounds, the job would be on the flathead rez. What do you think?

Ronan is an average rez town, there is no hoity toity atmosphere at all. There is a glacier directly above Ronan in the Mission Mountains, it's formally named The McDonald Glacier but most folks refer to it as the Ronan Glacier. There are lots of poor people there and lots of drunks.

I agree with this post.
Ronan has a nice gun store. I have only been in the store a couple of times heading up to the Yaak. I go the Kalispell route more than the Noxon route. The clerks were nice and helpful and I bought a few things in the store.
Best wishes.

Ronan has a nice shop for street bikes, enduros, Moto X and quads. Polson is also on the Reservation but has the lakefront. Flathead lake holds some monster macs that can be caught from shore until the lake warms up, then they hug the bottom. Whiteflesh as I call it is high $$$. Rez town rentals as well as property prices are way lower than in the Flathead valley.
