Tell me about Whitefish?
I might be jumping the gun, but can you tell me about it (housing, schools, shops, weather)? We are currently in Bozeman (since Nov 1st).
Thank you!

Beautiful, but very expensive.when we looked to move to montana twelve yrs ago,we drove over most of the western part of montana, and decided that for the kind of scenery and stuff we were looking for, that we couldnt beat the flathead valley(we didnt choose whitefish) for beauty. But its gotten so expensive now, that unless you come with a chunk a money, its will be hard to find a house or land without paying thru the nose.we were lucky and grabbed some land right away.for a price that has more than tripled on todays market.

There's a saying we have in the Bitterroot: "The Bitterroot residents are the millionaires that moved out of Whitefish when the billionaires moved in". Or words to that effect. Basically, Whitefish is expensive. Also, the high school tends to be... pretentious.

I believe the weather to be dreary and glooomy in the winter with less sunny days and much more moisture. Kalispell is always the gloomy area of the state in the winter and Whitefish is only 15 miles away. Watch the weather reports and you will see when you have sun in Bozeman, Kalispell is getting snow or rain. Just something to keep in mind. Beautiful area but much damper.

Ok. My husband is against being transfered there at this point. I looked at housing and it seems to be as high as it is here in Bozeman. Houses seem to be older too.
