Default Missoula Hotel Question

Hello everyone. I will be making a cross-country trip in May and will be stopping in or near Missoula (or any place off of I-90) for a night. I know nothing about the city itself, so I'm not sure which parts are considered good or bad. I'm looking to find out which areas would be okay to stay in a hotel (and one that accepts pets) for one night. If I just know the areas that are okay, I can find the hotels. Thanks!

Montana's cities, (If you can even call them cities), don't have what most big city folks call "the good side of town" or "the bad side of town" Super 8 Motel allows pets as does the Thunderbird Motel.
Any place to stay that calls itself a "hotel" will probably not allow any pets but I could be wrong.

Stayed in the Motel 6 and Super 8 there with two dogs and no issues. Motel 6 has a nice open area (dirt/graveled lot) for the pets....

We had to stay in a hotel with our cat when we moved to Missoula. It depends on the pet you have. The Super 8 only takes dogs (we had stayed there once before, it was a decent hotel), so we stayed in the Motel 6 (Missoula is not a town brimming with pet friendly hotels), and they were fine as well. There aren't really any "bad" areas to stay in a hotel. If you are looking for convenience, I would stay on Reserve Street (this is where most of the chain hotels are anyway) because it has good access to the freeway, and everything is very easy to find.

What day do you think you'll be coming through Missoula? Motels fill up fast during graduation (May 12-16), I think the Thunderbird is already booked for that time, otherwise I would recommend it as it is quite close to our "Bark Park" off-leash area, as well as a small supermarket/mall. Other than that, for ease of finding them I would also go with Motel 6 or Super 8-right off the freeway.
