A moment of silence please for a fallen
Highway Patrol officer.
Officer Michael Haynes died yesterday at about 0830 from injuries suffered in a head on collision 3 days prior. He was hit head on by a suspected drunk doing well over 100 mph right around Somers MT.
He is the son of our friend and will be missed.
Haynes, 28, was sworn in as a trooper with the Montana Highway Patrol in August 2006. He is survived by his wife Tawny, his two young children Taryn and Elias, and his parents, John and Melody Haynes of Kalispell.
The Funeral is Tuesday.
Thank you....

The longer I live in Montana the more respect an awe I have for these public servants. In the most remote areas, heading into the most unknown situations, with back up a long way away. Their skills in many situations have to be sharp.
Please thank his family for his service, he will be remembered in prayers.

Don't think of me as gone away, my journey's just begun. Life holds so many facets this earth is only one. Just think of me as resting from the sorrows and the tears, in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days or years. Think how i must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of me as living in the hearts of those i touched...for nothing loved is ever lost and i was loved so much.

We noticed the flags were at half staff in Billings. We were sorry to hear of his death. What I am wondering is why these drunk drivers keep getting let loose back out on our roads. I drive around town a lot and if they're not drunk or stoned, they're beyond the safe age for driving, which is almost as bad. I know how hard it is to get around town without a car, but you'd think that would give them even more incentive to shape up. I must be dreamin'

I asked my attorney friend why and he said there's not enough jail space if they gave the DUI's the proper sentence.
Bottom line, no open jail cells.
