Buy a certified "Roach-coach" or "Maggot Wagon" as we used to call them and do a combo of real BBQ and classic "Taco Truck" fare and I will follow you around and tent camp just to eat the kind of food I live for. I'm picturing a toasted french Roll with guacamole on one side and refritos on the other, a nice size pile of Slow smoked BBQ shredded brisket, with a bit of Pico De Gallo and a healthy splash of hot sauce. A Torta de barbacoa from a maggot wagon at Glacier Park ! I'm in heaven.

Hey, I've got a question for y'all.... A friend of mine who owns a bbq joint and I are thinking of setting up a roadside stand in W. Glacier to sell bbq this summer. We'd be doing pulled pork sandwiches, soda and either chips or coleslaw for about $6 per and maybe either a smoked catfish sandwich or ribs (no not catfish ribs)...
What say ye? We're kind of on the fence, do it or not do it..... I think with a couple million visitors to the park every summer we'd have to be able to pull in a couple thousand maybe???
Cheaper than park food, better in most cases and it ain't granola bars.
Yum! Relleno, man I could go for some good Tex-mex.
I think your meal sounds good and a good price. Would you have car side service? Just thinking that if someone is tired out they might like to sit in the car. Good luck, I know we are going over this summer so we will have to go all the way to the other side.

We have a light dusting on the deck this morning The good news is according to the forcast it's supposed to warm up starting Thursday and should hit the high 60's by Saturday and the low 70's by the 20th or so....

The bbq place I've been working with is having a free public event Thursday from 4-6pm, I'm smoking a whole hog and deep frying 2 turkeys so I've put in my request for no snow/rain to those departments above that control the weather. We'll see how much pull I've got with the boss...

Just saw a news story that's disturbing... the sheriff's found a dead bald eagle up in Hungry Horse yesterday with it's head and talons removed... I certainly hope they find the idiot responsible for that one!

It looks like my neck of the woods will be missed by this one, just like the last one it should pass to the south of us. I'm keeping my sandals on so far and we have already started our outdoor grilling season.
There really isn't any snow left here and the bugs are starting to hatch. It's no wonder that early man used our area for a migration corridor. Google "The Old North Trail", I've been looking for the old ruts that are still visible in a few areas.
I'm looking forward to a kayak trip down The Marias River where if you go at the right time you can see these Prickly Pear Cactus blooming along the top of the riverbank edge.

Would the talons be considered "trophies"? (Genuine curiosity - we're eagle-less so it's not the kind of poaching I'm familiar with.)

A local wildlife co-op, working with the game wardens, managed to prosecute and convict a poacher based on the DNA of the venison in his freezer. I couldn't help but think it would make an interesting twist to an episode of CSI.

Been snowing here all day, not sticking too much, but there'd be 8 or 10 inches if it had. When the sun pops out again I bet we're going to see something like runoff start.

jimj, you could count on me for some fare if I were up your way and looking for grub. I always try and find the little roadside stands and mom and pop food if I'm out traveling. Like it much, much better than the regular fare, and a person tends to run into some fairly interesting folks that way.

Best food I've ever had on the road has been in little diners and such. Had some pie down in OK that I still remember, BBQ in Iowa Park, TX at a Sat. nite street dance that was beyond description.

Good thing I just had supper, otherwise the munchies would be hitting just thinking about it!

When I was stationed in Puerto Rico there were vendors all over the place selling meat on a stick. Cooked on these little charcoal grills, the scent would hunt you down and make you go get some of it. Most of it was chicken, (I think), and they would put a dinner roll on the bottom of the stick like the guard on a knife to soak up the grease and marinade. Wonderful!!

Some guys had a small BBQ wagon here in town during the summer, ran it for a couple years but didn't see them last summer. Pretty good chow, but a little high. They moved from parking lot to lot so you had to hunt for them if you wanted a sandwich.

From experience in Yellowstone, any real food at a normal price would be really welcome. Just be careful of your customers in the park, some are black and some are brown, most are furry and they don't tip worth spit!

Just set up over the park line and the feds can't do much to you. Just get your licenses in the county you operate in, get good fresh meat, treat the customer right, I bet you could have a growing business there!

If you want a fun street party, try the Great Sheep Drive in Reedpoint! Usually good for some laughs, great food and a super good time!

We don't have snow here yet today, just a few flakes, (snow smart alecs, not people) and light rain. Mostly just dropped the temperature about 35 degrees. Glad I took my coat to work this morning!
