Well, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you from the 'ole geezer in the Bitterroot.

P.S. I gotta ask......what have you been using for a "tub" up to now......Oh, I'll bet I know........when ever you're over there at Tiber Res......you just accidently fall over board.

Washed in the rain and dried in the sun ! No, really we use a shower in a neighbors vacant apartment (I return the favor by keeping her parking lot free of trash that blows in), but there have been a few times when I have stood up to take a dive off of my barge of a kayak and climb back on after a quick swim around.
I can still swim pretty good due to all those years I spent board surfing long-boards old-school style without a leash. I remember a few times when I had a tough time having to swim around strong rip currents to go to shore and retrieve my board. There were no lifeguards at my favorite spots either !
My birthday may be over now but my "Birthday Month" has just begun !

How do you determine the "right one"?

Well..
The great hunter in the sky presents it to you, you just know. Hard to explain. A bit of a spiritual experiance. You have to know that you can get off a good shot, that you can drop the animal with minimal suffering, that you can retrieve the carcass. No willy nilly hunting at this home. A full freezer is a thankful end result.
Although I do hear that there is no limit on prairie dogs, just seems a little wasteful to me

We did go to La Pastada today and I had a combo of a tamal, and a chile relleno with rice and beans. It was very tasty.
I'm going to get that tub installed pronto, the cousins are getting so ripe they are running our customers off.
Happy birthday buddy, and many many more!!!

Once you have a horse break a leg in a prairie dog hole, or have 'em eat your entire garden from the roots up, you'll be all for wasting as many prairie dogs as possible!!

Tho they don't truly go to waste.. something will come along and eat 'em.
