Good morning all! Just driving through and figured I'd stop to say howdy... Well we're still here in "sunny" arizona where it's currently raining. Thankfully we aren't having the wind that we had last week, I've never seen flying mud before, what a trip that was!

For all those that don't know what flying mud is, take 50 mph winds, add sand/dirt/dust so now you've got a bunch of stuff in the air creating clouds of no visability. Then add light rain. Let the wind mix it up and voila! You've got 50 mph flying mud.

Stings when it hits the face, sounds like someone throwing gravel at your rig and makes a mess everywhere unless the wind stops.
Went by the Russo and Steele auto auction the other day, this is the one across from Barrett Jackson auction where "normal" people can bid on cars. They got hit with huge winds which blew over 2 huge circus tents (so hard the tents flew over the freeway) destroying or damaging many, many collector cars.

Saw a 66 mustang that got beat up pretty bad and on it's shattered windshield was a sticker that said "I'm still for sale"....
Well back to reading, hope y'all are doing well!

Wow 72 that sounds beautiful, yesterday was 15 for the high, but really it wasn't to bad, no wind and the sun was shining. Hope everyone has a glorious day.

You too Amy. It is absolutely gorgious today. I agree with Plantlover, great day to work in the yard. I actually have already been out there working. Cold weather of a couple weeks ago has done some damage, some of the plants look pretty naked, but with any luck in a few weeks new leaves will start to pop out.

Have a wonderful and safe weekend everyone.

I took some trees down - they were small - but lots of loppering and sawing and now a nice big trash pile. They were volunteers - not planted by me - perhaps by birds? Now for some lunch (breakfast bread from Publix with cheese - all heated until the cheese melts). Then two Advil and a nap!! This is Rodeo weekend here in Homestead - a tradition of more than 50 years. It is supposed to be the site of the southernmost rodeo. A big deal here with three days of parades, rodeo, dances, etc.

Wow, you'd never think of Florida as rodeo country!

You can send your volunteer trees here, we have all we can do to get the ones we plant on purpose to "take". Oddly enough cottonwoods, elms, and pines do better in the desert than just about anything else -- trees that most of the world thinks of as liking cold and plentiful water!
