I have a Cracker Barrel about 3 miles from my house. I've only been there a couple times

I remember that candy, the dots, bottles, cigs, oh were those the days. We took the kids camping a couple different times and they still have candy like that at the campgrounds we were at.
Hope everyone has a great Easter weekend. I am having my side and hubbies side all at our house Sunday so we have been busy bees around here the past couple weeks.

Hey jimj my wife and I quit all alcohol consumption about 7 months ago and we will never touch it ever again. No jonesing whatsoever and we don't smoke the cigs either.
We have a bit of bad news for our family. My wife fell back when there was still ice all over and now she has to get a knee surgery (her fourth) as well as a her second back surgery. About a week ago a big hole in her back appeared and it goes right to her spine directly at the bottom of her previous back incision. She has four fused vertebrae and one has been removed and they spliced her back with a titanium plate and screws. She has been saying that she thinks one of the screws broke loose. Good thing she has health insurance.
We are moving back to the Flathead area to look at nine properties. The two we have now have stable renters and our bank has been starting to give us the nod to go looking for another income producer.
I'll never be a Donald Trump but maybe I can be a mini Donald Frump, another trailer trash slumlord who rents to medical pot growers and old tired sex offenders !

Rickers, well wishes to the Mrs. Stinking ice is the only thing I would change about life here. It can really be hazardous.
Seems she is due a "good" break!
You must be a great LL to stay at full occupancy.

Hey Rickers, just joshing 'bout the booze thing.... Those plates and screws can be a real bit#h, they do back out or pull loose sometimes. I feel for your wife, had 3 back surguries myself, need some neck work done but I refuse until such a time as I can't use my arms. They tell me once you start down the spine surgury trail it never stops, it just keeps marching up from the first one. If god knew what I'd be doing to my body he'd never have issued me a body right?

As for the store, it's kinda like a Cracker Barrel, this place is old enough that Cracker Barrel may have used them as a template. Not "phoney south" as CB and definately better food.
Fresh fried catfish, fried chicken, smotherd pork chops, meat loaf, greens (collard etc), fried okra, hush puppies, 2 types of cornbread (Ho cake and muffins) and my new favorite FRIED PIES! They also had black eyed peas, white beans with fat back and mac&cheese and I believe fried green tomato and fried pickle chips. Y'all get the theme of the place? FRIED!
Yeah, it's not great for ya but once in a while you gotta say "who cares", I'll eat a bathtub full of cheerios and drink a gallon of grape juice to counter balance the cholesterol...

I love Cracker Barrel and will go to the one near Missoula when we take our girl in August! And if I ever see a Casey Jones restaurant, I'll go there, too! I love fried green tomatoes and okra! We eat black eyed peas every New Year's for good luck throughout the year..... You are right, jimj, once in awhile doesn't hurt......

Rickers, so sorry to hear about your wife......dang, it just keeps coming...... My sister has titanium in her back holding it together.....she was forced to unload 18-wheelers when she worked for a large grocery market chain in N. California......(this was not her job).... The titanium in her back holds her spine together and it looks like a bow that has been tied......the surgery was done by a super-specialist in Sacramento....life sure does suck sometimes.....

On a brighter note, I hope that everybody has a nice Easter.... I plan on making a cake, pasta salad and we are going to bbq in the back yard...

I'm cooking a turkey on the rotisserie, mama is baking a carrot cake and making an apple/pear pie. This will be my last 'good meal' for a while until the family is reunited in MT after I leave..

Happy Easter everybody!

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) it's not a chain. Maybe that's why it's still good! Hope y'all have a good easter as well, we're currently in a dust bowl rv park, good for an overnight and cheap at $12 a night in Fort Stockton,TX. For easter we'll either be in Tucson,AZ or wonderful Vado, NM.
If in Tucson we'll have steak fingers and fries/slaw for dinner or giant prawns/fries and slaw. If y'all have not had steak fingers you've missed out big time!
look at Lucky Wishbone - A

Have fun y'all, btw it's 83 here @ 7pm
