We have those here, and I worry more about them than the road out front being hard on the barn cats. Owls are **** on cats, not pretty even if they make it.
Both ours must be smart little cookies 'cause they have done well around both.

When were out like this, we both keep a pretty good eye on the sky. She always notices birds first, she even spots jets that are so high up I can barley see them but for the contrail.

Hey, didja know that falcons evolved from the same rootstock as parrots? So they found when they backtracked their DNA. Falcons are not actually related to hawks, despite appearances.
Which probably explains why my sister's parrot acts like Killer Bird whenever he sees me!

Wow I had no idea about the relationship between falcons and parrots. There are some traits that parrots share with owls and some other birds and that is the head bobbing and the leaning back and forth with tail and head dress displays. There is a parrot species known as the hawk headed parrot, they seem like they could make good pet birds. My Peekaboo is related to the maroon belly conure and those as well as the green cheeks are known as "The quiet Conures" they aren't nearly as noisy as most other parrots. She does talk very clearly but only a few words. She says "Ricky, I love you" as well as "hey baby" and "peekaboo baby" She also likes to go on bike rides and she likes to go kayaking with me.

Here are some pictures of the parrots that I have either kept as a friends/companions/pets or have rescued from horrible pet shops or swap meets. One flew the coup, I re-homed one, One was stolen and the Macaw I traded for a motorcycle when I had to move and could not have the bird.
Blue and Gold Macaw.
Canary winged parrotlet.
A rare Patagonian Conure, the largest of the conures and a real mean S.O.B. ! It ate my roommates tiny half-moon conure entirely. There was nothing left but a few tiny pieces of bloody bones and feathers in my birds cage. (The roommate left his cage open and went off to work and his bird went between the bars on my birds cage and that was the end of the poor thing.)
My old Blue Crowned Conure "Buddy" was stolen out of my locked car when I went to grab a cheeseburger.
A Lilac Crowned Amazon doing "scarecrow duty" at my backyard garden.

I see the Macaw is on a camellia bush, I miss those dependable shrubs..Quite a good looker. Did you have to clip the wings? I have heard of parrotlet but have never seen one. I wonder if conures can be psychotic? Yikes the Hannibal story on that one was intense. So sorry for buddy's fate. I bet it was just terrible. You looked pretty close to each other. I like the lilac Amazon. I don't think I have ever heard of that one. I think I shared once that I bird sat for 5 months for a gal who went overseas. It was a conure. It was green but had a large red area over the vent. He was fun but alot of work! He demanded coffee every morning. He rode on the handles of our bicycles. He needed so much attention! True test of the marriage vow Thank you for your care of God's creatures. Great photos, let me cut up some fruit for your buddies.
BTW I have always wanted to go to Australia after I saw a special that showed FLOCKS of Cockatoos and Budgies.

Good morning all! Well I went out since it was soooo nice yesterday and decided to drop by the tea party downtown. Believe it or not there was over 1000 people there with all manner of signs protesting taxes, proposed gun laws and the national debt. There were some counter protesters for Obama as well. They were a large bunch that took up a whole 2 squares of the sidewalk as there was only 3 of 'em. Yes I mean 3 people holding up we love Obama signs.
I stopped and talked to one of 'em and he was a reasonable sort of person and after a bit wispered to me "I wish Ron Paul had been elected instead of Obama" but this is who we have and we need to support him.
Good to see we still have some neighbors willing to stand up!
Supposed to be warmer today, if y'all will come by and help clean the gutters I'll set out a pitcher of Lynchberg Lemonade (heavy on the Lynchberg) and some corn bread & honey...
