Bakersfield...Why? That's where I'm at! It has been a brutal summer with almost 40 days of over 100 degree temps. What's it like on the front porch today?...I live vicariously through all of you.

Looks like Bozeman got some snow, we were in the window but they have raised the low expected for the next few days to the upper 30's.
It is coming folks Tons of apples in the tree and lots of seeds, cones on every tree around here. The doppler shows snow all on the western side.

First time I went to Bakersfield, I had bad directions to where I was going, so I asked some random stranger at a gas station, "Where am I?" and he says to me, "You're in Buck Owens country!" I knew that. (I'd guessed good, tho.. I wanted the fairgrounds, and turns out I was only a couple blocks away!)

Went to a dog show in Tulare over the weekend. Was 105 and humid I'm livin' in MT vicariously too... grew up in MT, been in SoCal for a while (tho am trying to get moved back, CA has lost its mind)... I'm down near Lancaster. We didn't have any summer this year -- only one day above 110, otherwise it never got above 103. Normally we get a month or so in the 115-120 range. Today it was so cold I had to wear long pants!

I noticed the snow on the MT webcams this morning -- looks like some of the western passes got enough to need plowing!!

Well, I done went and looked at that F-150... engine good, drives nice (far as I got before fubar'd timing and a dead battery put me afoot), can't tell about the transmission cuz whoever owned it before was the type that slams everything HARD, and either the gearshift lever mechanism is warped, the linkage is bent, or the transmission is slipping... couldn't tell which. Just about everything in the cab that could be rode hard and put away wet had been (except the seat!)... lot of that stuff is harder to get parts for than the major mechanicals, and can cost more to fix, if ya don't have a captive mechanic (and an organ donor). Shame cuz I liked the truck, and the engine (much newer than the rest of it) is probably worth the $800 the guy is asking, but the nickel-and-dime stuff may just be too much.
