There is also an adventurous family riding a "bicycle built for five" hauling a tiny trailer and peddling it up to Alaska.
Some folks have guts and ambition and others like to play it safe and have boring lives.
I have been out and about with my camera again. First I went fishing then I went sheeping !
This is as far up Trout Creek that my pimped out fishing kayak will go.

I'm about to go "sheeping" too, but this version involves a rifle and my neighbour's 200 or so goats, which roam the desert as they wish and are destroying my trees <GRRRRRRRRR> Peppered 'em with the shotgun to no effect. They've already done about 5 grand worth of damage.

There are some no doubt who may view their dragging those young kids along in a negative way but I'm thinking that when the kids get older they will be glad they did the trip. Each summer more and more folks do these kind of trips it seems. It sure seems like a lot of weight to be slogging and how much pedal power can the kids provide ?

Thanks for finding that!
As to how much pedal power ... remembering what I was good for on a bike at that age (way more than I am now!), I'd guess the kids actually provide more motive power than the adults. And yeah, there's no substitute for actually DOING stuff with your kids. Even if the kids are sometimes bored now, they'll look back on the memories later and be glad they were along.

We used to put playing cards on the bikes to hit the spokes and pretend that we had motors !
Another thing we used clothespins for was for making "match-guns". Those got us into a bit of trouble on occasion though.

I wish I had a piece of Paradise ! There was a house I wanted there but they wouldn't accept my low-ball offer ! I also insulted the lying realtor about listing it as a "Victorian" when it was not and she admitted it when I called her on it.
Finding fair and decent deals on real estate is a lot of freaking work, and reminds me of going on a snipe hunt ! I did find what I think is a snipe the other day while fishing though.
