Personally, I wouldn't. I used to live there, and now I can't stand the place. Once the realtives who still live there are gone, I doubt I will ever return.
I might visit Glacier Nat'l Park again, and I might spend some time on Hungry Horse Reservoir, but the town of Kalispell? Nope, no desire to go there at all!

Heck I go to Kalispell when I'm in the area just to eat at Skippers. It's a nice place to get supplies if you're going to enjoy the surrounding regional outdoor activities. The traffic is becoming a problem with all the new shopping centers and housing. There is a big fair there in the summer as well as a few nice arts and crafts shows and gun shows. I've lived in Kalispell as well as Evergreen and also out Batavia Lane west of Kalispell and enjoyed living in those areas. I like where I live now better though.

Kalispell is a great place- great place to leave! I can't stand the traffic in the summer, and it seems like it is year long anymore. Not too much to do except mabey the fair in the summer, which I stay away from. What are you hoping to do?

Hmm, I'd suggest Whitefish or Bigfork instead.

Where everything is more expensive ! Kalispell is a great jumping off point and a place to load up with supplies for camping, fishing and hunting trips at reasonable prices. Whitefish and Bigfork are lovely little tourist towns that are fine and dandy but the stores are expensive. Good for walking around, grabbing a tasty meal and buying a few overpriced trinkets. Kalispell is the big city of the valley and a hub of sorts. I wouldn't consider Kalispell a destination though, rather a supply depot to grab a new fishing pole and some lures before heading off to the The Thompson Chain Of Lakes or Hungry Horse Reservoir.

I agree with avoiding Kalispell. Pain in the butt to get through, and not much there you can't find at home. Bigfork is somewhat better to visit. I avoid Whitefish like the plague. Even if the yuppies live in condos and mansions, they are still trailer trash types, that I wouldn't want my kids around.
