Default Things to do in Kalispell or Whitefish in the rain

We;ll be in Kalispell and Whitefish from May 14-16. We have plenty of outdoor activities planned if the weather co-operates, but do you have any fun suggestions for things to do on a rainy day? I already have Conrad Mansion and Blacktail Mountain Books on my list. I checked out the local theater companies but none seemed to have anything going on.

Ya... you can help me cut firewood and clean up afterwards ! It's fun, really fun . I'm just NW of Blacktail too so it's not out of your way any.

How much help are you bringing ? Let me know so I mark enough trees to keep everyone having fun for the day. Don't want anyone to get bored or anything.

May is not the best time to visit Blacktail Mountain as skiing is over and the off road 4x4 and dirt biking trails may not be ready to ride yet. (snow and mucky) You could go fishing when it's raining as fishing picks up when the creeks are bringing bugs to the fish. I would suggest visiting the Hockaday art museum or mosey on down to Pablo and visit the "Peoples Center" and learn about the Salish, Kootenai, and Pend Oreille people. Another Idea is to visit the town of Hot Springs and soak in outdoor but covered hot natural mineral spring pools. Both Pablo and Hot Springs are about an hour from Kalispell. Bigfork is a nice town with shops and restaurants similar to Whitefish but on a much bigger lake. Go on a sport fishing trip with "Shorty" you don't pay for the trip unless you catch fish and his boats have bimini roofs so you won't get soaked in the rain. You can bring your own cooler full of beers if you want too.

Maybe if you reciprocate the favor by cutting up some firewood for us on our WA property. We have some trees that need planting too I love planting trees in the rain.
