Question Harlem, Montana history

I am seeking information about the homesteading years around Harlem, Montana. My grandparents homesteaded several sections north of Harlem, about 13 miles south of the Canadian border. Where do I find histories written for this area?

One good source is a book called "Thunderstorms and Tumbleweeds" which was put out by the Blaine County Historical Society back in the 70's. It had a lot of personal biographies and first person accounts of the area and it's homesteaders.

I too am looking for information about the founding and settlement of Harlem, MT. Is the book "Thunderstorms and Tumbleweeds" available for purchase? I am interested in information about Charles Smith who came to the area in the 1870s.

You can find him here:

Progressive Men of the State of Montana | Mansfield Library | The University of Montana-Missoula]

Just use from the WWW to the smith part otherwise it won't work.
