Default Sun Mountain Logging lay offs

After an unusually long spring break up, Sun Mountain Logging just started calling back loggers....well, some of them. After four long months of scraping by with unemployment, some loggers were laid off with a sweet little phone call "hey sorry bout this but gonna have to lay you off". Isn't it nice that Sun Mountain's newest job is part of the stimulus package. The same stimulus package designed to create new jobs and keep workers working. Goodbye health insurance, good pay, job security....hello more unemployment. They could've let these guys go BEFORE four months of barely making it along. That company can take that nice fat stimulus package and shove it.

Did you get called back? Hope so.

Down here in Sheridan Wyoming, the Sawmill closed last year. That was totally unexpected. They layed off over 100 people with the excuse of "Housing isn't as demanding as we thought it would be." Huh???? Sawmill operated for years with housing going up and down. A neighbor was layed off after 26 years at the mill. But they kept guys that were only on the payroll for 6 months. Wyoming, Right to work state.

Hopefully, they put people back to work.

EH

I'm not even one of the workers. I know a guy who got laid off today. He was told it was because they needed to cut back and he was one of the last ones on. They really put the screw job to use. After such a long break up, half the logging crews quit. They are running with skeleton crews and getting paid from the stimulus to pay full crews. Sucks to work for them.
