Well, this isn't Kali - You can buy 5-25 acres pretty cheap, but then you need to either a) put in a power line ($25k) or b) depending on which town you're in put in a genset to run on fuel oil (#4D no tax) or LP (more exp). My polebarn is 30x30 and the house is 30x46 = 2326 sqft under one roof for $145k. You want a lot of trees if you're going to build or heat with wood. It saves thousands when you need to put in that wood stove - knowing you don't have to buy the wood to feed it.
