Default will I be welcomed ?

Yes , a very opened ended question .

So to help you answer it I will tell you about myself in hopes of finding my new home .

I am not liberial by the standards i have read on these boards , nor am i a right winger .

I smoke my so called wacky weed , not medically prescribed

I am a avid backpacker /hiker and love the rockies the cold does not bother me as much as people do

I am not what one would call a tree hugger but at the same time i do firmly believe that global warming is happening . and sooner or later water will be our greatest commodity.

I would like to keep all my weapons . although I do not hunt . ( I do not have a problem with those who choose to hunt )

Yes i wear birkenstock , although not because i am a tree hugging liberial . ( they happen to be comfortable on my problematic feet , most likely from all those trials ) .

I perfer keeping to myself and the wildlife but do not mind the city life as long as its not in my back door .

I am no where near being rich in fact most would not concider me middle class either ( am hoping Montana is not extremely expensive to live )

Easy going use to colorado rocky weather , living in Texas atm .

I would love to move to Montana perferably within a hours drive of a VA hospital

Feel free to be honest or sling the mud .

Thank you

I am sorry if I stated my question in the wrong way .
Most certainly is not to start a drama fest .
After reading all those other post that were drama IMHO make me wonder if i even should move there .

If anyone would be willing to give a honest answer that would be great

Thank you

You start by stating your political views and then state you're a stoner and want people to take you serious??? Seriously!

But if you want my "honest" opinion, here ya go. Move here if YOU want to. Don't base your decision on what you read on a message board! MT is a beautiful place to live, and if your nice you will fit in wherever you go, yes even MT.

But it usually isn't best to say you smoke wacky weed and expect to get positive responses from people on here!

Move here if you want. Don't expect anybody around you to help you ajust. I have a lot of neighbors that I will help in their need. Don't move next to me, I don't think I'll want to help you in the winter.

Up here, we take care of our own. We don't expect any help, but we get it. It's not asked for, it just happens.

This is not Los Angelas? It's Montana. We fend for ourselves. But we take care of our own.

well thank you both for your response , as for me mentioning weed its simple : 62% of montanian's voted yes by legalizing medical Marijuana , seeing as I do not wish to break the law I perfer to live in a state where I can get it legal . ( thats the simple answer not going to bother with what my medical issues are ) .

Elkhunter , fair enough not that i require any help , I myself help anyone who really needs the help . As for Montana not being los angelos I have no idea as i have never stepped foot in california .
I doubt I will be anywhere near you as I require a VA hospital , I am sure you have nothing against Vets .

I know that Helena has a Va hospital would anyone know what small towns within 40 miles give or take a few miles would be a decent and friendly town without a high cost for property ?

Thanks

I'd generally call Helena to be the town (call it large or small depending on your perspective) and there really aren't towns (aka suburbs) that you can live in outside of it. There is Montana City, but that is about it. Most of everything outside the populated part of Helena is either farming, forestry, or rural living.

Be aware that the Montana VA has a reputation. You can do a search on here and read more about it here or elsewhere on the internet. Elkhunter is a vet himself from what I understand, so it's safe to say that he doesn't have anything against vets.

thank you Ceder-Bluff-Tree-Farm, I most certainly will look on these boards for info about the VA .

After researching on these boards I could not find much if anything about the VA hospital in Helena . Any chance you recall what it was about ?
will do search on net course I may be blind and simply missed it . thanks again

You may want to use VA Medical Center in your search rather then hospital .
