I'm more familiar with the area around Highway 200, but I think I can safely say there's tons of wildlife up on the Kootenai. Much of the Cabinet Wilderness area is grizzly habitat. A real estate agent we talked to in Troy (not the good one we know in Libby) tried to convince us that harsh winters with lots of snow were a thing of the past in NW MT! Hahahahaha! I wouldn't buy a used car from that guy. Troy is, I believe, the lowest point in MT, but they sure got their share of snow last winter.
