Default Should guys wear eyeliner?

What in the hells going on?! When did it become okay for dudes to wear eyeliner? I was talking to some ladies this morning and 2 out of the 3 said they loved it when guys wore a little bit of eyeliner. This world is getting fruity. Next dudes will be shaving their legs, even in Montana.

Heh... actually, makeup was originally a MALE thing. Men wore all sorts of makeup and jewelry even back just a few centuries, frex during the Renaissance. And 3000 years back, no upper-class Egyptian or Persian male would be caught dead in public without their makeup (which mainly meant painted around the eyes). That both makeup and jewelry have become primarily female things is relatively newfangled, as civilization goes.

Over the past couple decades it's been coming back, tho -- first it was simple stuff like male jewelry (remember when a guy wearing an earring was bold and daring?), but I think we'll see a resurgence of male makeup over the next couple decades. It's already old news in the Goth community, but what starts as a fringe thing frequently goes mainstream, and I think it's already on its way.

I don't really care one way or the other. If you like it and look good in it, go for it. If you don't like it, or it makes you look like a dweeb -- then don't!

As to guys shaving their legs... I knew a middle-aged guy in Bozeman, 30 years ago, who shaved his legs and torso because his ladyfriend was a fullblooded Indian, and since most Indians don't have much body hair, she thought it was gross -- so he shaved it all off so he'd look good to her.

I'd love to sport a punk-style Mohawk myself, but I'm too damned lazy for that much work... I'd have to cement and wire it in place (or more likely, drive spikes into my head to make it stand upright and stay put), cuz my hair likes to lay there like a dead rat. At best it would straggle to one side and look like it was trying to fall off my head, cuz my scalp only knows one direction and there's no changing its mind!

The whole punk and new wave thing started to bring this back. Oh Cyclists and Tri-Athletes have been shaving out of necessity for decades. Wounds heal better and easier with no hair involved. It also hurts quite a bit ripping out hair by the roots taking a wetsuit off quickly

I think it looks great on certain guys as long as they are kind of on the pretty side to begin with.

About 4 years ago I had a guy working with me that moved down from Billings. He had eye liner on. I ribbed him about it, course, I couldn't let it go. Finally he said, "I can't go wash it off cause it's not eye liner." I said, "What is it?" He said that he got so tired of putting it on every morning that he had it tattoo'd on.

10 years ago I used to paint my nails black and rock the "goth/punk" look. You might not believe me, but I had to fight off the women with a broom.... Women love "characters".
