C'mon, he doesn't like the cold! He says there is trash in places (as if every other state in the country doesn't have that). Let him vent why he wants to leave, maybe it'll keep the other sissies out!

Quite frankly, the cold in this part of the country is what keeps it nice. If it were 75 degrees every day of the year, we'd be flooded with people messing it up.

I quite agree. If Montana had Orange County, CA weather, it would have 30 million more residents.

I've said it before: Montana is special because of what it is not as much as what it is. And much of what it is, is that much more special because it is what it always was.

The "Hate Mt." poster is a woman. She waiting for her husband to retire to move. Poor bastard. LOL.

Last week it took me almost 2.5 hours to drive 60 miles to Los Angeles (pop. 3.9 million) from Orange County (pop. 3.2 million). This was at 4 PM on a weekday.

Parking in LA cost me $16 and premium gas in one city was $4.99/gallon.

Makes it much easier to forgive the pot holes and occasional frowns in Montana.

Trash??
The filthiest highway I have ever driven was between Sacramento and Selma on old Hwy 99. I have seen old fashioned (before they became "landfills") dump sites that were cleaner.
I do hope that person is gone.

"Montana sucks" whines about a lot, but apparently hasn't been to grade school, where they teach what a paragraph is.

To be fair, it costs me almost that much to park in downtown Missoula. But at least there are $2.50 pints at Stocks after work, so that offsets the cost some...

This may be that year. The green ash trees down in the fields are changing color. That would be 3-4 weeks early.

Sometimes trees are weird. I've seen 'em change color in mid-August before a mild winter, and keep their leaves into November during a severe winter. Still all green as can be here, even along the river where they usually change first. Neighbor's black walnut hasn't started turning yet either, and it's usually the first one.

OTOH, a few days back I saw geese flying south in formation, tho coulda been fleeing the smoke.
