Talking Thinking of moving Guess Where?

I am a teacher in New Hampshire. My husband has always wanted to move out West. We recently visited Northwestern Montana and loved it! I am a bit nervous about salaries and the cost of living, especially since I would like to live near the northern boarder of Idaho. I also know from experience what it is like to see one's state overrun with out-of-state transplants. Any friendly advice?

Recent new story noted that Idaho pays teachers more than we do here in Montana. Cost of living is clearly an issue too if you are looking at the Kalispel area. Further NW, the really small towns of Trout Creek, Noxon, etc., are cheaper but teaching may be limited to working with small private schools like Spring Creek Academy or others.

Most everywhere pays teachers more than we do.... Which is truely a shame.

How funny, we lived in Manchester NH for a few months but the belligerent/hostile illegal mexicans drove us right back out.

The local paper in the Flathead Valley is the Daily Interlake. Heres the link to the classifieds jobs, and I think there are a few teaching positions posted.

http://www.flatheadnewsgroup.com/newclass/?basic|http://www.dailyinterlake.com/newclass/ (broken link)

Be sure to check BOTH the weekly and daily listings, as they are not identical. Good luck!
