Default Montana Drivers?

Can anyone tell me how drivers in Montana are overall? I've heard the speed limits there are higher due to alot of openness, but just how is the pace overall? Will I get run off the roads there or are people more patient?
I've also heard there are many people moving in from other states so that would factor into it as well.

Why would you expect drivers to be any different? special training for country roads or something? I drove long haul for a wile and the drivers here are no different than anyone else.

No real large city’s here so driving is different but the people are the same.

Sometimes I wonder about the turn signals. I guess in a small town you should know that farmer John will be turning left on Central Avenue on Saturdays at 4:23pm.

Overall, I think people in Montana are more curtious. But then, I just lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for 14 years so maybe I'm just used to their jaded and overly aggressive style.

When I'm in Montana I go 90-100mph and I'm usually flying past other drivers. Most go 75-80. I only go faster because I drive an Audi and if it doesn't go fast, it cries and complains to me :P

Also, in some towns such as Helena they turn off many of the traffic lights after dark, reducing all intersections to four-way stops. This might irritate you.

Hell, in Great Falls (and I'm sure other cities) they leave out stop signs altogether!

That takes getting used to. Nobody has a stop sign (or any other sign) at the four-way intersection. There's a rule about giving the right away to the person there first and if you get there about the same time the person on your right has the right away.

But still...

Yeah, the lack of stop signs is annoying. At every single damned intersection you have to check to see if there's a stop sign for the cross trafic. If there is, you go; if not, you don't. Obnoxious.

Nah Pennsylvania is notorious for 4 way,5 way and anything else they come up with.
