So very sad. So many young lives have been lost or changed by these type of heartbreaking incidents.

When my oldest son was a Junior in High School; four Cheer Leaders decided to take a weekend trip to Gainesville for a football game, they were drinking when they rolled the car. One girl died at the scene, three survived. One girl was in very critical condition, she was in a coma for months, her entire life changed in that moment. Before the accident she had been a straight A student with her whole life ahead of her, after the accident she stuggled to learn to talk and to walk again. It has been 25 years - she has married, is unable to drive and works a grocery store handing out samples. Each year she goes to the local high schools and talks about drunk driving.

My son will rarely drink anything beyond a cup of coffee or a soda. He became a Firefighter / Paramedic.
