Hmm,he won be 30 votes.Well at least turnout was actually high.I just reread some stuff on his website....he still seems in total denial of his wifes guilt. In the town talk section he talks about how they skrimpped and saved to take some 3-4 thousand dollar vacations every couple years....while she was skimming $10k a year. From what little I know I think he might really believe his wife is innocent.....although it seems impossible that anyone could be that much in denial....I think he may be.

A lot of money can by a lot of denial. My sister was reading some of the letters to the editor from his supportrs. It seems the criminals and druggies in town love him. You know what they say, birds of a feather.

Hello all.
I know this is an old thread, but I have some input.
I live in Harlowton and have been involved in this issue. I'll try and clear up some of the questions I read in previous posts...and probably throw in some of my own opinions because that's the way I am.

How could he not know? Well...I find it impossible to believe that he didn't. If he did know then he does not belong in law enforcement. If he didn't know then he doesn't belong in law enforcement. Enough said.

What did she do woth the money? Nice house. Vacations. And not quick trips to the local sites. On cruise ships to exotic places. And, yes, "he" was with her.

Does the criminal element and doped-headed maggots love him? A resounding "YES". And so does the county attorney because he won't push her to prosecute on any cases. If she drops the ball, or just doesn't feel like putting out the effort (which happens), he just shrugs his shoulders.

The "who you are" type of law enforcement? It is alive and well here. Incidences that I am aware of would take up too much space here.

Is he well liked? Yes. He's an easy guy to like, very personable. Even more so is the fact that his parents (especially his father who is a retired doctor) are VERY well liked. And rightfully so...they are great people.

Here's a kicker...there's folks here that still think Lynn was set up. Denial in the nth degree.

What we had here during the primaries was a combination of the following:
1. Dope-headed maggots actually got away from their chosen drug long enough to cast a vote for Rosenberg (they REALLY don't want Misner to take the job...cause he does the job, and they know it).
2. Many retired folks voted for Rosenberg because of their friendship/
respect for his parents (yes, people told me that's why they did it).
3. The ballot counting/judging is highly suspect. SOS was notified but no action was taken on their part.

The good news is that Misner is running again as a write-in candidate. There is hope yet.

Oh...and it gets better. Aside from all the money that Lynn has stolen intersested persons should google her and check out what they owe to the Dep't of Revenue.
In fact I encourage folks to google Jim, Lynn...and Misner. The difference is astounding.

If you have family and/or friends in Wheatlend County encourage them to know the facts...and vote accordingly. They need to do as I did. Internet research for CREDIBLE documents and, in Misners case (remember "he ain't from here") I not only did on line searches I called previous employers. I know the truth because I took the time to search it out.
Anyone not willing to do the same, in all elections, should just keep their ignorant selves at home and let the informed take care of business.

Cant believe misner doesnt sue all of them. The mud slinging is getting bad. All lies and his family is suffering. Rosenberg should fire that dispatcher for that letter she put in the paper. The whole sheriff dept should be investagated. Shame shame shame. What is wrong with those people, are they all involved in the scandel.

I have to agree with everything okgirl has said. I had my sister send me all the newspaper articles because this story is something you would think only hollywood could make up. I have a feeling many in that city profited from Lynn Rosenberg's crimes and there is no way her corrupt husband did not know. You would have to be thick in the brain to not notice something for 10 years.

It is clear he also has a great deal of support from the criminals in town, druggies and such. By the way, how is his convicted felon wife going to not be around guns? I hope the other guy wins. It looks like the Rosenbergs are the center of the corruption in that town.

I started searching for corruption in Montana and it seems these kind of problems are common. Check into Hamilton and Ravalie (sp) County. Just WOW!

I just got the news. Harlowton voted to keep the dirty sheriff with his criminal wife in office. If I were that Misner guy I would move my family out of that corrupt city as fast as I could. Who would want to raise their children in a town like that? Shame on Harlowton.

Misner is moving. They are loosing a good man and a wonderful family. That was the only chance those people had and they screwed it up. Im glad all my kids are on there own and live else where. Do you think there were more people involved with the sheriff wife embeseling money and food stamps? How did she get away with signing someone elses check and puting it in her personal account? No one noticed. I think theres alot of stinkers in the out house!!

While in the past I've stayed neutral in all aspects of the election - it's time not to. I'm sure most of you saw the blurb in the paper announcing part time Deputy Misner has filed as a write in after losing to Sheriff Rosenberg in the primary. And now the utter shamelessness of filing over 100 variations of names, symbols, initials, and phrases, including Disney characters so that if Mickey Mouse is written in Misner gets the vote has me angry. I mean honestly. Is he that concerned and scared that he feels he needs to stack the deck and cover all bases. For a man that swears the community is behind him as a whole this shows me one thing- he isn’t as sure as he says. As far as I’m concerned he’s a low down, sneaky man, and lacking all dignity and honor. This was my last straw, it has everything to do with a man that apparently wants to win at all costs – even at the cost of what little respect he had left from the community. So while I have stayed quiet in the past – I won’t now, even if it means my job becomes increasingly difficult if he should win. A job that I’ve loved and dedicated 8.5yrs to this community not only as a veteran dispatcher, but as a volunteer EMT. I wrote this letter hoping that it opens a few eyes, and without the blessing of my current administration. It was just time to set a few things straight. I sat back while all the mud was thrown by Misner supporters, I sat back when it was insinuated that Sheriff Rosenberg was less than honest, but I refuse to sit quietly now.
Before you vote please ask yourself these questions:
* Do you want a man whose religious beliefs run his political? There is no room for religion in politics, what you believe morally has nothing to do with the law as it stands and shouldn’t interfere with your ability to do the job. It’s not an officer’s job to chastise and judge those in custody. It’s their job to uphold the letter of the law and do what that situation deems necessary. Sometimes that’s giving an individual a ride home, others arresting and having them sit it out for the night.
* Do you want someone in office who doesn't treat people fairly and looks down on a person because of sexual orientation as well as marital status? A person’s opinion is just that - theirs, and they are entitled to feel what they choose. BUT a man with the level of training he states he has should know better than to bring it into the workplace.
*Do you want someone in office who has shown how poorly they accept what's already been decided? Who apparently doesn’t accept what the community has decided and cares little what you want. This re-file as a write-in shows this. He’s already lost once, and apparently doesn’t care what the community has already decided.
*Do you want someone in office who lectures and berates fellow employees and the public rather than sitting down and having a conversation?
*Do you want someone in office who is incapable of seeing both sides, only the side that benefits him is listened to?

Having worked with both parties running - I KNOW who's best for the office and the community, I've seen how both individuals treat people in jail and while in custody. I’ve seen personal and public issues addressed and I know how both dealt with them. Yes I could cite several occasions in which I could back up my claims, however being currently employed here I can’t state specific individuals and instances because of confidentiality. I can say this however. Speak to a few people that have been arrested and served time here. They know how they were treated and by who. It’s been said that Jim garners the less than desirable vote – but ask yourself this. How many of you had a few and drove home, got in a yelling match, or a scuffle in the bar in your youth.. These are the people you should be talking to.

I know that in the 8 years I’ve been employed in this office I’ve never felt so angry and violated as I did being yelled at, pointed at, and berated (on video I might add) when I followed office and dispatch protocol and Mr. Misner disagreed and wanted to handle matters himself. If he treats fellow employee’s that way, how will he treat the public if given free reign?

A person’s front put on in public isn’t always their true colors. I’ve seen both sides of Mr. Misner’s personality, they are vastly different. While personable in public, not always privately – unless it benefits his agenda.

I’ve heard the rumor, speculation, and talk about Jim’s wife Lynn, and was here during the entire thing - but honestly none of that matters as she is doing what is required of her. She is paying with not only time, but is required to pay restitution also. What’s in the past is just that- the past. She pled guilty and is serving her time- end of story. Jim was invested heavily and found not to be guilty of any wrong doing.
What you should ask is this:
*Has Sheriff Rosenberg done a good job?
*Is the current staff happy with him as Sheriff? Have you asked? Wouldn’t we know better than the average person? We’ve worked with all parties involved – personally as well as professionally. Many of us would be happy to answer questions when not on duty.
*Was the community happy prior to an individual coming in and stirring the past for personal gain? Do we really want the past rehashed? I’m sure dirt could be found on Mr. Misner if we cared to look.
*On a whole does Sheriff Rosenberg do what’s best for this community and does he treat people fairly and equally?
*Is he willing to listen – this office has always had an open door policy that few use. Come in, call, and ask questions. Please come on in and express your concerns. Jim’s always done his best to address them.
*Do you want a man who address's all calls from the neighbor's barking dog to the bar fight in a timely manner and responds to both with the same professionalism and care?
Take the time to say NO to Misner and YES to Rosenberg.. Do what's best for the community and stop the rumor and speculation. Take our community back and stop the separation that's tearing it apart. If you don’t feel Jim is the best man for the job, and don’t feel Misner is either – LEAVE the line totally unmarked and blank on election day. Let’s make this election fair. No stickers, no unearned votes, and no accidental votes.

Wheatland County Dispatcher –

BTW!!
Wheatland County agrees with me!! Sheriff Rosenberg almost doubled the number of votes that Deputy Misner recieved and won the election hands down in EVERY city within the county. Hes a great man, sheriff, and administrator.. I think people should know ALL parties involved prior to making comments on something they have no clue to....

Wow, talk about the perspective being different from opposite sides of the same fence...

As an outsider to this I don't know who's in the right nor what to believe, but I think it's good that these different perspectives are being freely aired.

One thing's for sure, everyone's attention is now on the sheriff. Seems kinda unlikely anyone in that office could get away with future wrongdoing with that many eyes all pointed his way.
