Not a fair comment. Salinas residents should be paid a living wage of $15.75 an hour, as they pick salads that those of us middle class enjoy. I regularly buy the 99 cent store romaine 💕 hearts. Would gladly pay $1.99 to double their wage. Also, the Salinas and sand city residents serve the rich who live in Monterey. Time to nearly double the minimum wage and also raise taxes on the rich, with national rent controls.

I live in Salinas and it's not as bleak as the previous posters make it out to be. Also this thread is nearly a year old, but thought I would still poke my nose in here...
