Breaded and deep-fried sounds deadly for the waistline. I'll avoid that particular temptation, thanks. But there's a lot more they could be doing with the artichoke cuisine theme: creme of artichoke soup, salad with artichoke hearts, artichoke dip for French or Italian bread, etc. They need to branch out! Or somebody does, maybe not that particular place, which seems to get poor reviews.

That restaurant has been there many, many years. It has seen better days. Years ago there was a real good BBQ Ribs place next door, called Bings Diner...

There are a few cool-looking little places on the drive down to Santa Cruz through Halfmoon Bay that look like they're worth exploring. Sounds like there's more to explore a bit inland, too. I should make this a project, next time I'm in the area.

That's true. Watsonville has a lot of raspberries and strawberries, among other things.

They used to have the "Strawberry Festival" in Watsonville.

We used to go to the Friday nite dirt demolition Derby Races at the Fairgrounds....

I used to take my young'uns fishing & camping at Pinto Lake in Watsonville...

Pinto Lake Park: RV campground, quiet lake camping near the Monterey Bay / Santa Cruz

We have enjoyed some great meals at "Shadowbrook", in Capitola.

Shadowbrook Restaurant

The restaurant by Moss Landings outdoor market was great.
