Yeah, the combination of more sun throughout the year along with accessibility to places like Big Sur and the Monterey Bay are pretty hard to beat. Then add in all the events like the Monterey Jazz Festival, Pebble Beach golf, races, car shows, colleges, universities, oceanographic research, the language capital of the world, it's rich history including the place where California's first constitution was written, etc...

There are hiking trails right off the road which take you into the highest coastal mountains in the lower 48. Getting out there and taking it all in is pretty mind boggling and awe inspiring to me even after living here 8 years.
