What is the employment outlook for immediate and/or long term employment in Montreal? I'm a divorced middle-aged guy living in New Jersey who speaks a little french and would love to become fluent. I have a varied work background. Ten years in the mortgage business, a brief stint as a personal banker for Chase and fifteen years as a manager in a hardware store. For the last two years, I have been employed as a NJ Certified public school teacher. Budget crisis cost me my job. At this point my future is uncertain and I sure could use a little help.

Without fluency in French its going to be tough as most jobs require bilingualism, even the ones that dont necessarily require French may pass you over in favor of a French applicant, but i;d say start sending your cv to various companies in Montreal and see if you get lucky.
PS there are no fulltime jobs for teachers in Montreals English school boards however some of the remote Inuit school boards are always looking for teachers.

Heres one school board that i see looking for teachers often
