Hi,

I am going to be in montreal this weekend and read that parking is not that easy and not safe if the parking is in the open. Is parking at the Eaton Mall safe for the entire weekend and the nights since I will be taking the metro there? I ask because parking at the mall in new york is not the best idea and it's not 24 hours. Also anyone have experience parking at this address:

2020 Rue Saint-Urbain

Thank you for your response.

Parking for the Eatons underground shopping complex is street parking by meters that have to be rebooted with money every 2 to 3 hours..
Not sure whats at that St Urbain street address but if its just general street parking you may have to circle the block a bit to find a legal parking spot..
Be careful not to park in restricted zones that are for local residents only, the sign for that would be a red square with a parking zone/sector number on the sign like the ones in these signs

You might be better off just paying for an indoor parking spot for your entire stay as you're car will just be a burden the whole time you are in the city..

If you're driving in and staying in a hotel while in town, you're better off leaving your car in the hotel parking garage, and taking public transport. Parking rates range from 20 a day and up. Still less expensive than hunting for a parking spot.

Very useful info. I've save it for my next trip to Montreal. Thanks.

Could the OP be referring to underground parkade of this greenish building next to 'Church of St John The Evangelist'?

That building is UQAM's Complexe des sciences Pierre-Dansereau, with 24/7 parking.
Hopefully, someone is familiar with that location and can answer your concern for safety.
