This is another MAJOR issue in the US that does not exist this way in other developed countries.
California is an especially egregious example. Some of the world’s wealthiest people live there, yet there are also numerous homeless and people living in urban and rural poverty. I have read that some tech workers live in their vehicles because they can’t afford housing. https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/...-middle-class/

Geez Mouldy, are you going all Bernie Sanders on us?
California, which was cited as an immigrant's dream (though it's true many people dream of California), is hardly paradise. Yes, it's beautiful and has a climate that appeals to many. But its got huge budgetary crises that lead to serious problems with a whole range of critical public services, it is racially polarized and conflicted, and has problems with crime, illegal immigration, natural disasters like horrifying fires, floods, earthquakes.
And of course they have him as their federal-level president.
California is a Socialist ****hole and the entire State will probably hit rock bottom sooner than later! Their Governor is a moron and spends to the well is dry...
