@Bimbam - Thanks for the Wikipedia link! I looked into Montreal West and Hudson, and both places look nice! My husband will probably be working in downtown Montreal, so Montreal West would definitely be closer. They also have 2 Anglophone Elementary Schools (very interested for my daughter!) "Elizabeth Ballantyne Elementary School and Edinburgh Elementary School which offers French immersion. These schools are part of the English Montreal School Board". It looks like a very family oriented community.

Oh yeah, one more community you could look at (since Montreal West and Hudson appear to be in your price range). Town of Mount Royal.
