Just a French is equal to English in Ottawa? Just keeping things honest...

Actually when i go to Ottawa or any other place in Canada i really dont see an active attempt at getting rid of French its just the majority outside Quebec happen to be English No equivalent to an English bill101 or bill14 or English language police to marginalize the French speakers or the French culture, dont take it personally its just the way it is just like in Quebec its all French Except in Quebec many feel the need for all these unneeded language laws that do more to chase people away from Quebec rather than expose people to the positives of the French culture..
I'm just not seeing the French outside Quebec being subjected to the same treatment anglophones/allophones in Quebec have to endure as most of these stories point out .

No need to get rid of French in Ottawa, it's pretty much absent from the public realm, except for federal institutions. And that's even though the % of francophones on Ottawa is about the same as the % o anglophones in Montreal.

You should try adressing store clerks in French at the Rideau Centre or St.Laurent Centre and see what happens. I know, I've done it, only to get the deer-in-the-headlights look (or even mild annoyance). Heck, except for Rideau, the Ottawa shopping centres' websites don't even have a French version! Meanwhile, the Promenades de l'Outaouais is very accommodating to the small number of Anglos who shop there by having a bilingual website.

Deux poids, deux mesures...

All right, therefore we are to assume that you would support the repeal of Bill 101?

So that Montreal, Gatineau and much of Quebec could become like Ottawa with French relegated to the back of the bus?

You really have so little faith in the strength and character of your Quebecois culture that if bill101 were dropped all the French would become English?
Or the French would be relegated to a poor oppressed minority?
AJ those dastardly English red coats went back to England a long time ago..
AJ your culture is a lot stronger and entrenched in Quebec than you give it credit for,If i were a Francophone i'd consider bill101 an insult/embarrassment to the strength and character of my culture.

All right, so you want Ontario to have a "Charter of the English Language"?
