Any good recommendations? I just want a simple hair cut. I read in another forum that someone went to get hair cut and had to pay 30 dollars for one. I just want something simple such as $15 or so. Any recommendations?
I read that chinatown in montreal is good for it? If so, any specific places?
I live "south of the border" so my "take" might be just a little different. But when the only barber in the town of about 4000 population where I spend most of my time retired three years ago, it wasn't long before someone new picked up the business at an introductory rate of $8. I usually add a $2/20% gratuity, but have had to pass on a couple of occasions when I wasn't working full-time. It might come to a bit more in a more-urbanized, less-industrialized setting -- $15 doesn't seem outlandish for a large cosmopolitan city like Montreal, (where I have friends and have visited often) or as a new guy gets a reputation and a better clientele, but $20-$30 is still way too steep for a basic service that can't be "dressed up" too much, IMHO.
And personally, I prefer to "get a haircut", rather than "take" one --- LOL!
