We are doing French courses to work on our French, hopefully by next June, we will have some basic command on the language.
I have friends in Montreal and my husband has some family here in Mont Royal who are well settled. However Mont Royal is an expensive neighborhood something we cant afford at the moment. We are also planning an exploratory trip in March to get a rental lease, i believe moving date is 1july and ads are put up by Feb.
My husbands work does not involve walk in customers, hes a filmmaker/documentary specialist and just need a small office space to operate. He hires technical and production staff on need basis. Infact we are also looking at the option to open up a home office. He's always on the go, out in the field so i think we can manage initially with a small home office.
Someone suggested Cote StLuc and Ville St Laurent. How are these neighborhoods? Are they close to Metro? We need accessibility to downtown and want to live close to the Metro.

St. Laurent has the metro, Cote St. Luc has a commuter train station, but you have to bus to the metros. Neither is as historic as Verdun, I think it's the most physically attractive neighbourhood.

If you look on a map the Vendome to Cote Vertu stations run up the east side of Decarie blvd and that string of stations would be the ones that serve eastern Cote St Luc and the western parts of St Laurent
