We're coming up to visit my daughter this summer. They've only been there for 2 months, so are new to the area.

Is anyone here familiar with the hotels in the area of the Metro stop Georges-Vanier? We'd like a mid-range hotel if possible. We'll probably rent a car, so parking is a must.

Thanks for any advice! I'm looking forward to seeing Montreal.

Most of the hotels are in the downtown area.
Georges-Vanier Metro Station Montreal (QC) Hotels - BEST HOTEL RATES Near Montreal (QC) Train, Metro and Bus Stations Area - Canada
Which would be a 20 minute walk to the GV metro stop or you could just jump on the metro.
Unless you plan on going somewhere having a car will be a never ending hassle as Montreal has strict parking regulations and the signs are all in French, thats if you can even find parking.
Heres examples

a metro map.

There are many amazing Hotels in Montreal but you have to decide what you want to do while you are there.

Well, mid-range... Last time my wife and I went there, we went to this unsuspecting hotel called "Les Suites Labelle."
It was walking distance from several metro stations.
It looked strange at first, but we quickly fell in love with it. It was quaint, had nice ammenities, and overall gave us just as much as any of the larger, fancier hotels could.

Try airbnb.com

You'd be able to rent someones apartment or house. I used it for LDW. It was $150 a night while alot of hotels were 4+ star hotels wanted 3-400 USD a night so you get great value. I was right down the block from the Notre Dame Basilica.

I don't know how you feel about Hostels but Hostel Montreal Center was a great stay and very cheap and free breakfast from 7am-10am. Also, M-Montreal got a great rep from a few friends of mine who stood there while I stood in HMC.

Montreal Central
M Montreal

Both get great reviews and are about a 10 minute train ride from Berri-UQAM station to Georges-Varnier.
