I am living in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and I have always wanted to learn French. I know very little French overall, I am a beginner. I am 24 years old.
I want to take French Immersion and I would like to live on a campus. There is a campus in Halifax that I can live at, but I would much prefer to move away for a year or so and live in a large French city such as Montreal, or Quebec City. (I know there is a significant English speaking population in Montreal, but even still, It is a predominately French city).
Due to financial reasons, I can't live off campus. So wherever I go in Montreal or Quebec City, I must live ON the campus.

Thank you for helping me!
Well, have you looked into programs at various schools? Which look appealing to you so far?
Definitely Quebec City. Montreal is very bilingual and people will often automatically switch to english when they hear an accent, even if you're fluent in french. That happens less in Quebec City. Also, my first room mate spoke french only and it forced me to practise.

I found people to be open and encouraging when I was starting to learn.
