The fact Mr. Moore was a finalist for two other positions is a pretty good recommendation in itself. I suspect the political waters are pretty shark-infested, and that will be his biggest hurdle. He appears to be on the way up in city management, so Morgantown will probably be lucky to keep him more than 5 years or so.

Maybe, but Morgantown is growing and with that growth comes the ability to be a more attractive job. The predecessor, who did an outstanding job, was here for many years. The new fellow comes from a background with a similar set of circumstances, so a fresh mind with his experience base might be a big help right off the bat. He inherits a town on the right track. We're hoping he will not only keep it there but make improvements along the way.
