I'm 26 years old and moving to Morgantown. I have looked at a few apartments, but they seem more targeted toward WVU students. I would prefer living in an area that has adults my age or older. Also, the cheaper the rent, the better... I don't plan on staying for more than a year. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

If you're an active person, who likes living in a neighborhood in which you can jog, you will want to look into South Park or Suncrest. The additional benefit of South Park is that you can walk downtown in just a few minutes. If you're not active and want something as cheap as possible, I don't really know... but I'm sure someone else will chime in.
I will say, people will tell you that some neighborhoods are expensive, but you can find nice places for good price just about anywhere - I rented a one bedroom apt. in South Park for $375/mo, all utilities included (that was four years ago, but prices like that might still be available here and there).
This is the best time of year to look since only 10,000 of our 30,000 students are in town, and since you can find vacancies in mixed neighborhoods like South Park that cater to both more mature folks and students. I'd suggest going to South Park and driving around, looking for signs in yards. There are also condos exclusively for mature folks on University Ave. near the Ruby park, but those might be a little pricey.
If you take your time looking, you can find bargain rents here and there but this is not a cheap rent area. It is growing, and demand keeps prices toward the high side overall.
My daughter used to live in the Villas at Bon Vista after graduating before moving to Cheat Lake, and they were nice, and reasonably priced. A peaceful, quiet area, and it does seem to cater towards young professionals. I don't think I saw any students there, and if there were they were quiet. Not at all like the parts of Morgantown where all you hear is yelling and screaming all night long. ... can't stand that. Here is a link:
Right off Scott Ave. there's an apartment complex called Brunswick Apartments. They are located near the I-68 Wal-Mart. There are some students there, but it's mainly older professionals and families.
The Villas are pretty good. $650 for a one bedroom.
