I feel sorry for the teams trapped in the ACC, but lets face it the ACC deserved this. They started the trend to raid conferences to increase revenue so it is only fitting that is how they should end, by being raided. I just hope the teams dont have to suffer too much for the ACC's sins.

Hi guys. I'm just curious what the date for the FSU move is now, that the 'done deals' have happened 2 times and passed, then the 'set in stone' dates have passed another 2 times, and the 3rd is 3 days away.
is it now July 30th? or August 30th? I mean, I know its going to happen, 'the dude' in cannonsburg said so before he got mad and quit blogging(thankfully it won't last long, hes done it before after his 'SEC is a done deal' articles' ,only to come back in a couple days THANK GOD i was worried), I'm just wondering when its going to happen now.

Big 12 rejected fsu, for now. The picture is wrong. Fsu is still trapped on the sinking ship and there are no big 12 boats to rescue them. I personally think it was a mistake not to snatch fsu when they expressed a desire to join the big 12, but the big 12 can always pick them up later. So there join date is whenever the big 12 invites them. Could be tomorrow or on a year from now. Most likely after the playoff system is created the acc will be carved up.

Your PantyLair group might get a reprieve since it is possible the B12 won't expand at this time. The liklihood is that it will happen sooner or later though because the income disparity is too great for ACC teams to compete with far wealthier programs surrounding them and because frankly Swofford screwed the pooch when he took a couple basketball oriented programs into his football quality challenged conference, when the money is on the football side.
Now, head on back to the Pitt Board for your ACC lovefest for a rousing chorus of Sweet Caroline.

The situation was very different before the conference stabilized. Are you not aware of current events in Football? Big 12 did have some problems, but now ACC has MUCH bigger problems. It is an irrelevant football conference, and members have expressed interest to join other conferences. So, no they did not want FSU, at least at the moment. Have you also not been following the news? The Big 12 announced they were not expanding right now, and FSU was stuck in the ACC. Really you have nothing to come here to gloat about. It is like being married to a wife who wants to leave you for someone better but was turned by an eligible man so is staying with you a little longer.
Anyway, feel free to stay. I love talking about football, and the ACC's misfortune is my enjoyment. Enjoy being at the mercy of the 4 big real conferences. If and when the Big 12 wants to expand it can pick up pretty much anytime in the ACC.
If I were in charge of Pitt I would be planning my exit strategy right now.

since i have the invitation, sure. ignoring the fact that 'the ACC's misfortune' isn't your 'enjoyment', its your imagination..
let me ask you a question, the following applies to 2 conferences ever. which ones?
-get raided losing 3 of your top teams
-replace them with mid majors
-invite notre dame for non-football sports.
thats right, the old big east, and the new big east. (also known as the b12, big bevo, and big math)

Doesn't change the fact that the account is irrelevant and fsu and Clemson tried to get a big 12 invite. Despite the issues of the big 12 it remains more relevant, desirable, and stable then the account which is a basketball conference. So enjoy being the new big e
If you don't care about football this is not a big deal. If you like football I would recommend finding a team in the big 12, big 10, sec, or pac to root for. Any other conference is tier 2.

Pathetic Pitt and their losing program with a rented stadium never got an offer. They inquired, and were told they didn't meet the criteria. The Big 12 does not have urban type schools as members and requires that the revenue sports be in on campus facilities. Syracuse and Pitt had been trying to go there with WVU, but WVU was the only one in which they had interest so they pulled a Brooklyn with their buddies at hapless Miami. Now they are stuck in the new Big East waiting for third class status as soon as their real football schools go to the Big 12, SEC, and Big 10.
The only good football program the Big 12 lost is Nebraska. They were miffed at the fact that Texas has their own special tier 3 situation that is better than anyone elses, and went to the Big 10 (the league Pitt has been trying for more than a decade to get to sniff its butt). Texas is entitled to its own tier 3 money. They have the support base to merit it, like Notre Dame. Their program is about 40% larger and more established than any major football power and about 120% better situated than Pitt. Tobacco Road has long lost sight of real college football and seems to not even care about it. Pitt is actually well suited for that conference, and you can go there and have your Big East type basketball lovefest. It is better than the old Big East? Probably, but only because you don't have the small basketball only schools to drag around.
Thanks for stopping by, and don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.
