Default Morgantown Now Has its Very Own NYC Style Street Hotdog Vendor

I was downtown today and noticed for the first time a new NYC style hotdog vendor, cart and all. I stopped by and he introduced himself. I think it will be a big hit. Gary the hotdog guy just might have a winner.

CT, is this different from the guy who has been downtown with his cart in the past? I always used to see him out front of The Shop. I'd also see him at the 68E onramp in Sabraton/Brookhaven.

He's been there for at least 10 years, but usually comes out at night and only nice days. I remember the uproar he caused in 2005 when he raised his prices from $1-$2.

The lines outside his cart at 3 in the morning are 20 deep and rowdy.

I'm an old guy, and you won't see me there at 2AM, but I hadn't seen him before. It is the classic NYC type hotdog cart with all the accessories. I don't know if he is the same guy, but it is great to know he is there doing it. It's an extra nice touch for Morgantown.

That's really impressive... brings a real "cosmopolitan" sheen to Morgantown. I'll have to keep an eye out for this pioneering hot dog vendor next time I'm in town!

Same guy, same cart, same thing for at least 10 years. There have been others too that have mostly failed, but there's a lone guy with a cart that has been a constant for years. I never realized that having a hot-dog cart was the tipping point for becoming a world class city.

How do his dogs compare the place by the bridge in Fairmont?

I don't know, but being downtown today I noticed he was still there operating during daytime, and he seemed to be doing a brisk business. My wife (a New Yorker) says next time we are downtown we should buy a couple hotdogs and give it a try.
