Over 10,000 high school students around the USA were polled to rank the most desirable schools they would like to attend. West Virginia University came in at #7. The top 10 had a variety, with land grant institutions and private schools.

this doesn't seem very beleivable. they probably would get much different results each time they did this too. Nothing against WVU but there are a lot of other schools that get a lot of hype like UNC and UVA, etc.

Another of a long list of accolades for what has become known nationally as a terrific school in a wonderful city, near spectacular outdoor amenities.

Probably a good many who like to have fun while going to school. Let's face it, to a 18-24 year old Morgantown is a paradise in terms of entertainment and the availability of alcohol.

More than likely a result of the schools reputation as a party school and not necessarily because of academics. As you can easily tell by the website, this is not a very credible source and if I was WVU I would not want to think too much of it.

WVU does have a growing commendable reputation for academics and campus atmosphere though, and that is something to be applauded. All WVians can be proud of the University for the work that it has done to establish its self as a top tier public University.

WVU has it all... great educational programs for students and elderly residents, an amazing assortment of
living options for everyone, and soon even the very religious will have their own specific housing option nearby, and wonderful outdoor amenities located nearby. It does provide for a lively social life for those so inclined... thus the Top 10 ranking in that regard, a distinction it shares with Princeton, Penn State, Wisconsin, SUNY Albany and other great schools.

It is the only school I know of besides West Point that has its own zip line courses in the mountains along with thousands of acres of fully dedicated University forests, although I suspect once this becomes known there will be people at Me Too U. who will be scrambling to find a cheap substitute somewhere. There are many reasons it is a terrific destination for a higher education.

You can get a great education at WVU (consistently ranked in the Top 30 nationwide for return on investment) and have lots of fun too, including good, clean, wholesome fun. And, being located in an award winning, nationally ranked college town adds to the attraction.
