It is most unfortunate that the water leak contaminated water for hundreds of thousands of people in a 9 county area in our state. It is important to note, however, that leaves 46 counties where the water was not in any manner contaminated! It seems there is some spillover effect where the leak is causing a drop in tourism in every part of our state due to people believing the water was contaminated. That is absolutely not the case. In fact, Louisville, KY and Cincinnati were impacted with trace amounts by it while most of West Virginia was not.
Absolutely no part of northern West Virginia (Parkersburg and north), or eastern West Virginia had anything to do with the chemical leak. The water in those areas is as pristine and clean as ever, and there is no logic to avoiding visiting there. Morgantown is more than 160 miles from the source of contamination, and is well upstream from any effects.
