Bear Attack in Mon County (Morgantown, Blacksville: area, top, town)

Last evening, a woman mistakenly got between a mother bear and her cub in an area outside of Morgantown. The mother bear knocked down the woman, who was slightly injured but managed to scare off the bear by screaming at the top of her lungs. While these attacks are exceedingly rare, it is wise to exercise due caution if bears have been sighted in your vicinity.

There's been a bear or bears out near Blacksville or around Mount Morris recently. Its amazing how quickly you can go from the small city feel of Morgantown to quite rural. That's one of the things I love about this area.
