If you could take down everything on that corner you'd have a decent sized lot at a good location. As it is it's just too much of a hassle to get in and out. I've watched that corner for years wondering if someone would come up with an idea that would work.
Once upon a time I was told that the property at the corner of University and Patteson was owned by two brothers who had inherited it. They could not agree on what to do with the property so they built a wall down the middle and one built the "newer" building on his half and the other left the older building on his half. Wonder which one has faired the best?
I think the new Popeye's is being constructed on Earl L. Core Road now, although they don't have any identifying signs out in front of the construction site.
How come they do not post identifying signs in front of construction sites? It's like they want to keep it secret instead of generating any interest/excitement.

It used to be standard operating procedure, sometimes months in advance and now it seems like once it is built they then put up a sign. Its really dumb.

You would think they would want to generate interest and anticipation by putting up a sign. Does anyone else remember when they built the Panera's on Patteson. No one around here had heard of them. The sign was up for ages before they even broke ground. By the time they finally opened almost everyone knew who they were and wanted to check them out.
